Which blogging software should I use?

I recommend using Wordpress Blogs. You can sign up for a free account at www.wordpress.com or use the method I prefer, which is installing the Wordpress script itself on your own web server hosting plan. The software is easy to use and comes with an installation program that guides you through the process. The other very cool feature of Wordpress Blogs is the fact that you can use add-on plugins that extend the capabilities of your site. Go to wordpress.org/extend/plugins/ to search for them.

What should I write about?

That’s the fun part - you can write about anything! Choose a hobby or something you’re an expert on or have a passion for. My biggest tip for your success is just that; make sure you write about something you actually enjoy and never create a blog for the sole reason of making money online. If you start a site just to earn extra money, you’ll most likely fail because you’ll be more concerned with income generation than writing good quality content that actually helps someone or provides entertainment. Pick a topic you love and could imagine writing about everyday.

How often should I write posts?

This depends on how motivated you are to succeed, but the most important thing is to be consistent. Consistency will make or break your blog success. This is so important because search engines like Google and Yahoo love continually updated web pages and especially blogs. If you can write a great article every single day, then do it and never look back. As I’ve said, even if you do every other day or every few days, make sure you’re consistent and never stop…keep going and going and pump out that content.

How do I advertise my blog?

There are literally tons of ways to get your blog out there and known by the public, so here’s a list of some of the more effective ways:

• Talk to other bloggers that write about the same topics as you and form a link exchange or relationship with them. Become friends first, then and only then ask for a link or the chance at being a guest author on their blog.
• Use SEO (Search Engine Optimization) tools and techniques to get a much higher ranking in the search engines.
• Leave comments on other similar blogs with your name and web site link to receive lots of incoming links, which will help grow your audience.
• Submit articles to Article Directories like this one to get the word out with a link back to your blog.
• Write quality content that engages your audience and give them a reason to subscribe to you and keep coming back for more.

Once you’ve been around for several months and have compiled a nice list of quality articles with a fair amount of traffic coming in, you can start to think about implementing various ways of monetizing your blog. The most common are adding banners or small ads in the sidebar area of your site that advertisers pay for per click or on a monthly basis. Additionally, you can have in-line text ads that will underline certain key phrases that, when clicked on, will open a small ad for a sponsors site. After awhile, you can even write review on your blog for affiliate programs or products and get paid a good amount of money every time.

Really, the possibilities are endless when you want to earn extra money on the Internet with blogging. You just need to be disciplined and consistent with your articles, never stop getting the word out about them, and add lots of value for your readers. Affiliate marketing is the quickest way to start earning income on the internet.

Here’s how to get started.

If you are interested in learning how to make money at home there are many products and informational sites available to help you get started. But if you’re undecided on what to do or how to do it, there is one idea that’s a proven winner: starting an online affiliate marketing business.

This is a business where a person (an "affiliate") is able to earn extra income by listing other companies’ websites on his own. If a visitor comes to the affiliate’s website and follows a link to a merchant’s site, then makes a purchase there within a certain period of time, the affiliate earns a commission for doing the referral work.

A Legitimate Online Business

Since there’s no product to ship, inventory to keep, or payments to process, the affiliate can concentrate on pre-selling the product for the merchant. Furthermore, there are no fees to pay so this business is in no way an MLM or pyramid scheme business. This "make money at home" business is not about selling miracle cure fruit juice to friends and family; it’s the promotion of millions of products for retailers including Amazon, eBay, Dell, Office Depot, iTunes, plus airlines, insurance, travel agencies, credit card companies and on and on.

First comes the fun part of niche affiliate marketing: brainstorming. You don’t want to be too general in the focus of your website since the best keyword placement tactics are better suited to niche sites.

For example, let’s say you’re a fisherman - an expert in fact (who isn’t?)– and you want to write articles for a website about fishing. But what kind? If you’re a trout fishing guide in the Rockies, or a tarpon fisherman in Key West, write about what you know.

A niche site is the ideal make money at home project. Just share your knowledge on your website and then select the merchants and products that are best suited to your site. You promote and write reviews of the products and services of these merchants to start earning commissions.

Develop the Website with Content

So with your great niche idea, your next task is to develop content. From your brainstorming exercises you should have a wealth of article ideas. You’ll be writing the home page covering a general introduction, topics you’ll be discussing such as equipment and lures to use, fishing methods, where to go, local regulations, and so on.

You’ll be introducing your affiliate marketing strategy when you start to write these pages. For example, you’ll be inserting contextual ads right into the contents of the pages you write. Keep this in mind when writing your keyword-related articles and reviews.

You’ll want to repeat certain "keyword phrases" several times in the articles. This is how the search engines work - commanded by the phrase a user inputs into the search box, the engine goes out and shifts through millions of pages where the keywords appear and return the most relevant pages in the search results for the user to choose from.

Provide a Service Other People Need

An important point to remember if you want to make money at home when developing a niche site is that you must think like a customer. What do you do when you want to buy a fishing rod but don’t know which one? You, like other consumers, use a search engine to find out about stuff that you don’t know. You want to read reviews and see what opinions other people are offering. Consumers like to visit niche sites for such information.

Starting Your Website and Home Business

One of the best places to visit while you’re getting started in your quest to make money at home can be found at Ken Evoy’s SBI site. They also discuss how to sign up as an affiliate marketing partner with a merchant.

One of the strategies that SBI will point out is that it’s vital that you produce one site at a time. This won’t be a problem for you to make money at home if you focus on a niche and put all your effort into that. Make the one site work and make it a money maker before you start to build the next one. Conquest Authority Release Date Changed

It seems that Alex Goad of Conquest Authority (the relaunch of Google Conquest) has decided to delay the launch date until June 16th. In December of 2008, Alex Goad released a product called Google Conquest. It was a system designed to give anyone not only the tools they needed, but the education they required to succeed on the Internet in a big way. This product quickly sold out, and has remained unavailable to the public ever since.

On May 5th, Alex is relaunching Google Conquest as Conquest Authority, and people are no doubt wondering whether or not this product really did live up to the hype.

As someone that has been on the inside for the past 5 months, I decided to let the world know what being a Conquest member is really like. 

There are going to be a lot of hollow reviews coming out - and when I say "hollow" I mean it’s going to come from people who haven’t actually tried Google Conquest.
